What is it?

Except for bone histomorphometry, the commonly used methods of bone mass measurement rely on absorption of x-rays by bone mineral. Our radiodensitometry method uses digital x-ray images, calibrated with our custom density wedges, to provide an objective measurement of bone mineral content and areal density in your specimens.

Each digital image includes an aluminum or acrylic density wedge which is used to calibrate the image, followed by a densitometric analysis of the bone image which is converted to aluminum or acrylic equivalents. The analysis uses custom analysis routines in ImageJ software, which are fast and precise.

Output includes a specimen report showing the graphic representation shown here, the data, and calibration information; and the data in spreadsheet format convenient for analysis.
